Skin Cancers Diagnosed Each Year
Southern Sun Pathology Skin Excision Evaluation Program offers an educational experience designed to enhance your diagnostic skills in identifying high-risk lesions. By improving your ability to detect issues earlier, you can achieve better outcomes for your patients.
This unique program allows you to submit provisional diagnoses for cases requiring histological evaluation, with the added benefit of tracking your progress against peers in your clinic and all doctors enrolled in our program. You will also receive training videos to further enhance your skills in detecting skin cancers, supporting your ongoing improvement, along with direct access to our pathologists for any questions or guidance."

How it Works
Enrolment
Enrolment is automatic and renews each year. Simply by sending your specimens to Southern Sun Pathology you are enrolled in the program. There are no forms to complete or accounts to set up.
Reporting
Quarterly audit interval reports are generated and emailed directly to you, containing statistically relevant feedback about your own practice compared to those of your peers and the wider GP cohort.
Qualification
A minimum of 15 specimens received per quarter are required to be sent to Southern Sun Pathology for a report to be generated, before CPD hours can be appointed later in the calendar year.
Evaluation
Following the completion of two consecutive intervals a Self Reflection Survey will be emailed to you. This activity helps doctors identify area’s of improvement and in most cases can request training and support from Southern Sun Pathology and the Education Team.
